Do you know how to enhance the immune system? It is one of the most important things for attaining better health. There are many ways to enhance and strengthen the immune system.
At this time it is even more important than ever. We can use foods, vitamins, mineral, amino acids, probiotics, and mushrooms.
Using more fresh natural herbs on a daily basis is also a way to get more nutrition to support the immune system. It is easy to add a little more garlic, parsley, oregano, cilantro, rosemary or what ever herbs you like.
There are so many things we can do to prevent dis-ease in the body. Just do some research for more recipes that incorporate natural herbs and mushrooms.
I will be posting some of these recipes that we use and hope you will enjoy too. The closer to nature we stay the healthier we will be.
Foods to Enhance The Immune System
Foods that help strengthen immune health are blueberries, blackberries, beets, broccoli, fermented foods,( kefir-yogurt-sauerkraut-fermented vegetables) turmeric, seaweed, flaxseed, garlic, onions, ginger, green tea, citrus fruits spinach mushrooms and olive oil.
This is by no means all of the foods that enhance immune function but it gives you an idea of some that are very helpful. The vegetables also help our system be more alkaline which helps protect us from bacteria and viral infections.
Vitamins To Strengthen And Prevent Illness
Let’s take a look at some of the vitamins that are most helpful. Vitamin C has been used for centuries usually in winter to keep from getting sick.
The key here is to prevent catching anything. If the immune system is functioning properly it will fight off most invaders.
B Vitamins also help to control stress and right now there is extra stress for everyone. Stress alone will lower your immune system.
Vitamin A or beta-carotene also provide antioxidants to support our system.
Vitamin D3 is by far the most important to support the immune system and unfortunately there are many people deficient. Some of the reason people are low in Vitamin D3 are not enough sun, medications, poor digestion and some disease also cause us to have less than optimal levels.
Another vitamin not to be forgotten is Vitamin E which is an antioxidant that protects our cells and aids in lowering inflammation in the body.
Supporting Minerals
Mineral are also a vital part of keeping your immune system strong and health. Magnesium is my all time favorite mineral as it does so much in the human body. It is ever so important for the nervous system, heart function, digestive tract, blood sugar regulation, bones, energy production, muscles and the immune function.
Iron is also important as it helps carry oxygen to the cells and we can usually get enough in our diet if we eat dark green leafy vegetables.
Calcium is also needed but usually we can get enough in our diet if our digestive system is good, medications and disease sometimes have a bearing on uptake of calcium.
Selenium and Zinc are good cell protector so very important as well.
