Magnesium Is A Must For Good Health

Magnesium is an Essential Key to Good Health

Magnesium is an essential key to good health and wellness. I am just giving everyone a warning when I get on my soap box about magnesium just bare with me. As all my friends and family can attest to I can really get going. By far it is one of the most needed minerals for the body to function properly.

There is about 80% of the population that is deficient in this mineral and the 4th most abundant mineral in the body. If I had a choice of only one supplement it would be MAGNESIUM.

Reasons For Deficiencies

There are many reasons for being deficient in magnesium. Some of the main ones are, a high stress lifestyle, our food is grown on depleted soil, some medications deplete magnesium and poor digestion.

Poor digestion is another reason because of chemicals in our food, GMO foods, and a high gluten/sugar diet of the American people. Don’t get me wrong I know these foods are hard to avoid. My theory is eat as close to nature as possible. Some medications also cause poor absorbtion of minerals.

Oh and while I’m on the soap box, my theory is also: Eat healthy and make wise choices 5-6 days a week and and enjoy your free day of the foods you really like unless they are intolerant foods or allergy producing.

Calcium will remain in the body even when people are under high stress but magnesium is used quickly. Unless it is replaced we suffer an imbalance of electrolytes, muscle weakness, cramps. Other issues may be heart problems, constipation, chronic fatigue, nausea, migraines, digestion, lung/bronchial issues, nerve issues and mental problems.

So guess you can see why I take this as a supplement daily. It was one of the key things that helped me eliminate pain from my life. I am so thankful that I found what worked for me and I know many people that have had similar results.

Magnesium is an essential key to good health and wellness. It is easily used up when you are stressed, startled, or are in pain.

Different Types of Magnesium

There are many kinds of magnesium and again we need to chose the right magnesium that works best for each of us personally. The most popular are magnesium citrate, oxide, sulfate, malate, chloride, lactate and glycinate. I prefer oxide but many will argue with that but works for me so each person needs to use the one that works best for them

Avocado is one of the Highest Magnesium Foods

High Magnesium In Avocado

Avocado is a fruit and grows on tall trees and there are different varieties. They are a nutrient dense food and contain good fats and as noted one of the highest magnesium foods we have and also contain more potassium than bananas.

High in fiber and oleic acid which has been shown to reduce inflammation. By lowering inflammation it helps to reduce aches and pains. The mighty avocado is a true health food that benefits us in so many ways. If you are a lover of avocados that is great but if you are not you can add them to smoothies or juices and you will never know they are there. It will help you get added nutrition even if you don’t like them raw.

Many Food Are High In Magnesium

It is best to get magnesium from our foods. Some of the highest magnesium foods are avocados, raw nuts and seeds, beans, bananas, fatty fish, dark green leafy vegetables, dark chocolate, grains, soy products, berries and grapefruit. So you can see it really isn’t to hard to get magnesium from our diet. There are many more but the bottom line is we need to eat real food with the least processing as possible.

Grow A Garden Even On The Patio/Balcony

Home garden are a good way to know exactly how your produce is grown. That way you know there are no added chemicals. We enjoy a small garden in boxes that supplies us fresh vegetables all summer. Herbs give an abundance of nutrition and minerals. High magnesium herbs are St Johns Wort and Passion Flower.

There are so many great ideas for smaller gardens even if you have limited space. The vertical gardens are so nice and easily maintained. You can even grow a small herb garden in a window or in pots.

Blessings and Good Health to All
