Fantastic healthy skin is a real sign of good health. With the skin being largest elimination channel the body has so it is very important to keep the pores open to allow toxins to be eliminated from the body.
The skin will renew every 28-30 days so old cells need to be exfoliated off daily. Dry skin brushing is an excellent way to keep the skin in good health. Loofa sponge used during bathing is also a good alternative to dry skin bushing.
It is also a good idea to avoid to much direct sun as it dries the skin. I am not a big fan of sun screen because of the chemicals that are in them. A good choice for sun screen is MSM lotion but choose a good all natural brand (to avoid chemicals), it does a great job. But most of all use good common sense when out in the sun.
The foods we consume have a huge bearing on the health of the skin. Health skin needs omega 3 fatty acids from fish, fats from avocados, selenium, vitamins A, E and C are also important for skin renewal. Minerals are also key to proper function of the skin. When the skin is irritated it is usually because of toxins being pushed through the skin.
It is best to keep the digestive tract and the kidneys functioning properly as they are the first elimination channels. They should be removing the toxins and not pushing them through the skin.
Quality Herbs & Oils Nourish The Skin
Quality natural herbs are very nourishing to the skin and when combined with quality healings oil the skin flourishes. Herb like chamomile, aloe vera, cilanto, basil and calendula are just some of the most important for skin.
Some of the best oils are coconut, grapeseed oil, and shea butter to replenish the oils for your skin to keep it soft and supple. The elasticity of your skin keeps those fine lines away and everyone can use that.
Three layer make up the skin, it detecting hot and cold and sending those messages directly to the muscle to react quickly.
The skin helps regulate the body temperature and is constantly losing dead cells and replacing new ones. Muscles are protected by the skin. Feet having the thickest skin and our eyelids having the thinnest. Changes in the skin may be a sign of a decline in health.
Sensitive Skin
Make sure to speak with you doctor if you notice anything abnormal changes of the skin, like moles, itching, redness or pain.
Some problems that many people suffer with is dry skin and there can be many causes. It sometime takes a bit of detective work to zero in on how to fix it. You may find it can be from a diet low in good natural fats to nourish the skin from inside out, diet, UV rays, allergies, or even the cosmetics you use.
Natural Sin Care Products
It is best to chose non fragrance skin products. Lotions, deodorants, soaps and creams may cause more dryness. Natural plant based skin products will serve you better. These may be a little more spendy but just remember what you put on your skin is absorbed into the body so the less chemicals the better. My theory here is “If you can not eat it don’t put it on you skin.”
Some medications will also cause problems with dry skin so if absolutely needed be sure to use moisturizer and eat health fats. Very hot showers or baths should be avoided as this will decrease the oils in the top layer of your skin. Then the skin may become itchy and flaky. There are many different skin issues and with that comes an array of ways to deal with them. Among some of the most common ones are rosacea, acne, shingles, rashes, hives, psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, cellulite, athletes foot, warts, melanoma, and moles. While some of these are viral related others are from toxins and even some are genetic. They are all irritating and hard to live with.
Minerals & Supplements For The Skin
Minerals such as zinc, copper and selenium provide the best support for your skin but a good balance is essential of all minerals is best. Your body uses the minerals better when you have them all together. You may need to add specific minerals for for certain conditions. Vitamins C, D, E, and K will provide the most valuable for vibrant healthy skin.
Food Intolerance Or Allergies
Also to be consider is that some skin issues like rashes, hives and acne can be caused by an intolerance to food or environment. Hate to say this but chocolate, gluten, dairy, pet dander, pollens, latex, fragrances, nickel(as in jewelry), and even sunlight can cause problems for those with sensitive skin. Many people have to be very careful of the kinds of soap they use on the body and even laundry soaps can be a problem.
Hormone Imbalance Is A Common Problem Too
Last but by no means the least is hormone balance that can cause many problems. This is just not for teenagers but adult can be effected as well. Thyroid issues are sometime a problem as it control the amount of minerals held by the body and temperature control.
Proper hormone balance helps to keep the skin clear and healthy. Sometimes special attention to diet needs to be taken each month when the hormones change. An easy way to keep track of this is to put it on a personal calendar so you can find offending foods and when you have to be more careful in the foods you choose.
